TEM micrograph of nanoparticles

Figures shows the tranmission electron micrographs (TEM) of 5 hours milled and 10 hours milled zinc ferrite samples. TEM images show the microstructure of ball milled zinc ferrites. The microstructure clearly indicates grain size in the nanometer range at around 10 nm. The size distribution in the nanometer scale is seen for all the samples. The TEM micrographs also reflect nearly spherical in nature, more or less uniform, fine particles. Ammonia used during coprecipitation may be acting as the morphological catalyst leading to the formation of spherical particles.
